Rotobrush Coil Cleaning: The Las Vegas Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Rotobrush-compatible coil cleaning brushes and pads for residential and commercial systems across Las Vegas. On most units, the installed price runs $145 to $310 depending on your model and what failed. If the coil cleaner is clogged, worn unevenly, or the drive head has stripped, you’ll usually notice the system lagging on pickup, leaving fine debris behind, or making a higher-pitched sound at the coil head than it did when new.
Most Las Vegas owners discover the problem mid-job. The vacuum runs fine, the hose has suction, but the rotating brush stops sweeping debris toward the pickup. That’s the coil cleaner doing its job poorly, not the motor giving out. Marcus Veale has pulled apart enough Rotobrush heads in Las Vegas attics to know the difference in about thirty seconds of listening.
Which Rotobrush Models This Applies To
Rotobrush has used a few different coil designs over the years, and the part is not universal. The AiR+ and the older aiR series use a spiral coil brush with a square drive end that seats into the head assembly. The newer BrushBeast and Rotobrush e3 lines run a composite coil with a keyed collar, and that one will not fit the older heads without an adapter, which Rotobrush does not sell separately. If you have an early-2000s Rotobrush system, you likely need the original square-drive coil, and supply of new OEM stock is thin.
We match the replacement coil by the model number stamped on the side of the head housing, not by the age of the machine. The stamp is small, usually on the underside near the hose connection. If it’s worn off, we measure the coil diameter and drive-end geometry on the truck. On the aftermarket side, we’ve had good results with US-made replacement coils from Vacuum Systems International, but we’ll put an OEM Rotobrush coil in if your model still has factory support. The aftermarket coils are usually $30 to $60 less and hold up fine for residential use in Las Vegas, where the real enemy is fine gypsum dust from drywall work and the constant grit that settles into ducts here.

Signs Your Rotobrush Coil Cleaning Is Failing
- Debris left behind in a straight line. A healthy coil sweeps debris in a continuous motion toward the pickup. When you see a thin trail of dust or lint exactly where the coil passed, the bristles have flattened or the coil is slipping on the drive end.
- Rattling or chatter at the head. That’s usually the coil wobbling because the drive collar or square end has wallowed out. It will only get louder, and the vibration will start wearing the bearing seat in the head housing.
- Visible flat spots or missing bristle clusters. Las Vegas heat accelerates nylon bristle deformation, especially if the coil was left in a hot truck or attic between jobs. Once bristles start breaking off, the coil is done.
- Slower pickup across all surfaces. The vacuum is still pulling air, but the coil isn’t agitating debris off the duct walls. You’ll notice shorter runs between clogged lines because the heavy stuff never gets airborne.
- Burning smell from the head area. A seized coil puts extra load on the drive motor. If you smell hot nylon or electrical heating near the head, shut it down and get it opened up before the motor windings cook.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included
In Las Vegas, a Rotobrush coil replacement typically runs $145 to $310 installed. The coil itself is $65 to $140 depending on whether you need OEM or a quality aftermarket match. Labor is usually one flat hour at $80 to $170, which covers removing the head, inspecting the drive end and bearing seat, installing the new coil, and running the system to confirm the brush sweeps true.
You get a written price before we start, every time. If the coil fails within 365 days under normal use, the replacement is on us under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s the whole quote: part, labor, test run, cleanup. No per-vent pricing, no surprise line items after we open the unit.

If you just want to check the coil, you can pull the head cover and look for flat spots, broken bristles, or wobble at the drive end. That’s a safe inspection. What we don’t recommend is running a worn coil while you wait for a part to ship, because the wobble will oval out the bearing seat in the head housing, and now you’re replacing a $200 head assembly instead of a $100 coil.
The actual swap is straightforward on most Rotobrush models, but the drive-end fit is where we see DIY repairs go wrong: forcing the wrong coil into the socket or running it misaligned. If you want it done once and done right, call (725) 726-5532. We’ll match the coil to your model number before we leave the shop.
FAQs
In Las Vegas conditions, most coil brushes last 200 to 400 service hours. Fine desert dust and drywall particulates are abrasive on nylon bristles, so residential coils here wear faster than they would in humid climates. If you’re running three to four jobs a week, you’ll likely replace the coil every 12 to 18 months.
No. Once the bristles have flattened or the drive end is wallowed out, the coil is a consumable. Some owners try to trim and reshape bristles, but that changes the sweep pattern and leaves debris behind. Replacement is the honest fix. Call (725) 726-5532 for a price matched to your model.
About one hour for most models. That includes pulling the head, inspecting the drive assembly, installing the new coil, and running the system to confirm the brush tracks straight. We can usually do it same-day when you call ahead.
Yes. We keep common Rotobrush-compatible coils on our trucks, including matches for the aiR and AiR+ series and BrushBeast models. We also stock coil cleaning compatibility parts for Lennox, Trane, and Carrier systems. Call (725) 726-5532 and we’ll confirm fitment by your model number before you drive anywhere.
